I have a confession as well. I never saw it since I didn’t see what all the hype was about. I guess I’m just tired of all the apocalypse wasteland movies and shows popping up.

It wasn’t that great. It was a very expensive version of Crank.

Watch it for the cars. This is likely the only movie out there with a classic double decker Cadillac with two supercharged engines on a ridicuously raked truck frame. I got a kick out of the sheer variety of repurposed cars.
Muscle car mated with a Ripsaw? no problem.

I guess to find out why everyone loved it you’d have to finish watching it.

You have to either not watch it or watch it entirely. It’s fine to not like a meal you haven’t tried because you don’t like the ingredients. It’s fine to suffer through the entire meal and find out if you actually found something enjoyable. But don’t lick the top of the dinner roll and say, “I didn’t like the meal, and I even tried it.” That’s just weird!

I enjoyed it. There wasn’t exactly that much plot though.

My wife and I saw it at the drive-in this past summer and we both hated it.

Seen it. Liked it. Had some good points. Had some bad points.
Tom Hardy was a great cast for the Max Rockatansky role. I think the fact that he is slightly off balance and has delusions actually adds to the overall character and it makes me want to know if there’s some underlying cause for his mental instability.
The vehicles, while I loved them were so utterly unrealistic that it cheapened the experience for me a bit. Irradiated water everywhere save for the aquifer, yet they have enough metal, rubber, oil, gas, and nitrous to chase one another from here to the ends of time. Not to mention they have the tools to build these 2000+HP monsters in NO time at all. What’d it take to get Max’s car operational? A couple of days? He wasn’t a prisoner that long before they take off after the War Rig.... And where the hell did they get a supercharger for what seems like EVERY vehicle? I want to know where this glorious place is so I can place an order for 6 or 7....It’s more desolate than the originals yet more technologically advanced at the same time.....
I sat back after watching it and realized that the acting and storyline won over the negatives for me. A short and sweet way to describe it: Anime gets sucked into a live 3d post apocalyptic world with good story and good acting.
FWIW — Road Warrior is still the champ. All hail the Lord Humongous

Just wait. Stuff like this was popular in the 70s. Then, well the 80s came..... You might be wishing for this in a few years....

I found myself fast forwarding through it several times to pick up the plot points and then move on. I grew tired of being hit over the head with CARCHASEEXPLOSIONSTUNTS every 3 seconds.

I think the point I said enough was when the flaming guitar thing started up. Ridiculous. I know it’s not supposed to be realistic and that’s fine, but it just seemed like a violent Dr. Seuss dream and I wasn’t feeling it.
